I’m no stranger to BUFF® Headwear, but this was the first time I’ve tried their merino wool version. The Merino Wool BUFF® is made of 100% natural merino wool, as compared to the usual microfibre polyester of the Original. Although merino wool is typically regarding as a moisture-wicking, winter fabric, it can also keep you cool in the summer. Merino will is also water repellent, odor resistant, flameproof, durable, and provides UV protection.
I’m on track to finish the year with a total of 3,000 km if I stick to running on average just over 10 km per day. I felt stronger this week than last and my road runs have been on the faster side for me. It seems that I’ve also found myself in an unplanned run streak of 14 days so far. I wonder how long it will last?
My goal is to hit 3,000 total km for the year by December 31. To do this, I have to average about 10 km per day. Last week I only did about 50 km so I had to make up for it this week in order to stay on track. I ran every day at lunch plus did a couple 20+ km trail runs on the weekend. My legs felt suprisingly good considering this was quite a high mileage week for me.
I received a free entry to Foretrail’s Phantom Run because I volunteered as a pre-sweet for their Hallow’s Eve race. I decided to run the longest option, 24.5K , and Courtney, who also received a free entry, joined in the fun.
I picked up Dikesh and we drove over to Deep Cove for the Club Fat Ass event, Sweet Go Deep. The run offered three distance options 14 km, 20 km, or 40 km (two laps of the 20 km route). Directions were posted prior as the course was not marked and it was an everyone for themselves kind of event.
